Hope Erodes is een Belgische metalcoreband, opgericht in 2013, bekend om hun explosieve liveshows, tomeloze energie en intense podiumuitstraling met rookmachines en meeslepende lichtinstallaties. Elke show is pure adrenaline. Hun sound combineert de agressie van metalcore met melodieuze deathmetalinvloeden, wat vergelijkingen oproept met Killswitch Engage en iconen van de Gothenburg-sound zoals Dark Tranquillity en At the Gates — terwijl ze hun eigen identiteit smeden door middel van rauwe emotie en een krachtige muur van geluid.

In 2013, na een lange zoektocht naar de juiste chemie, kwamen vijf muzikanten samen in de achterkamer van een lokale zaal. Slechts drie maanden later betraden ze Red Left Hand Recording Studio, waar ze aanvankelijk nummers opnamen die puur bedoeld waren voor promotioneel gebruik. Het resultaat werd zo goed ontvangen door de lokale scene dat de band besloot om op 2 maart 2014 officieel hun debuut-EP 'Lost to Supremacy' uit te brengen — een introductie van vier nummers die hen naar zowel kleine als grote podia in heel België bracht.

In 2018 keerde HOPE ERODES terug met een nieuwe line-up en dook opnieuw de studio in. Samen met Bert Vervoort (Carnation) voor de opnames en mixage, en Yarne Heylen voor de mastering, maakte de band hun tweede EP 'Rainwalker' in Project Zero Studio. Deze release werd lovend ontvangen door gerenommeerde media zoals Aardschok, RockTribune en Rockzine, waarmee hun reputatie voor atmosferische brutaliteit en melodie werd versterkt.

De COVID-periode van 2020-2021 legde liveshows stil en bracht interne veranderingen met zich mee, waaronder het vertrek van een van de oprichters. Maar HOPE ERODES keerde terug met hernieuwde focus, behaalde een derde plaats op de Belgische Wacken Metal Battle 2023 en oogstte lof voor hun vernieuwde podiumoptredens. 2024 en 2025 zijn jaren van groei en nieuwe muziek: de band brengt een reeks singles uit – The Crown, Burning Ghosts, Hope Erodes en Into The Void – allemaal geproduceerd, gemixt en gemasterd door Yarne Heylen in Project Zero Studio. Deze nummers worden tegen het einde van het jaar gebundeld tot een gloednieuwe EP. Ondertussen is er al nieuw materiaal in ontwikkeling, waarmee de weg wordt vrijgemaakt voor het volgende hoofdstuk.

HOPE ERODES is a Belgian metalcore band founded in 2013, known for its explosive live shows, relentless energy, and intense stage presence featuring fog machines and immersive lighting setups. Every show is pure adrenaline. Their sound fuses the aggression of metalcore with melodic death metal influences, drawing comparisons to Killswitch Engage and icons of the Gothenburg sound such as Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates — while forging their own identity through raw emotion and a powerful wall of sound.

In 2013, after a long search for the right chemistry, five musicians came together in the backroom of a local venue. Just three months later, they entered Red Left Hand Recording Studio, initially recording songs intended purely for promotional use. The result was so well-received by their local scene that the band decided to officially release their debut EP ‘Lost to Supremacy’ on March 2nd, 2014 — a four-track introduction that brought them to both small and large stages throughout Belgium.

In 2018, HOPE ERODES re-emerged with a new line-up and hit the studio once more. Teaming up with Bert Vervoort (Carnation) for recording and mixing, and Yarne Heylen for mastering, the band crafted their second EP ‘Rainwalker’ at Project Zero Studio. This release received high praise from renowned outlets such as Aardschok, RockTribune, and Rockzine, solidifying their reputation for atmospheric brutality and melody.

The COVID period of 2020–2021 paused live shows and brought internal changes, including the departure of a founding member. But HOPE ERODES returned with renewed focus, landing 3rd place at the Belgian Wacken Metal Battle 2023 and earning praise for their revitalized stage performances. 2024 and 2025 are years of growth and new music: the band is releasing a series of singles — The Crown, Burning Ghosts, Hope Erodes, and Into The Void — all produced, mixed, and mastered by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio. These tracks will be bundled into a brand-new EP by year’s end. Meanwhile, fresh material is already in development, setting the stage for the next chapter.
